Welcome to AirVorne Volleyball LLC, an organization dedicated to organizing premier outdoor volleyball tournaments, leagues, and camps throughout the Atlanta area.
In 2000, AirVorne Volleyball was established to provide the best volleyball tournaments in the city of Atlanta. AirVorne hosted its first King/Queen of the Grass tournament and every year since then it has become one of the most popular formats in the city of Atlanta. In 2009, AirVorne Volleyball incorporated as a LLC in May of 2009 and launched AirVorne.com the following month to the volleyball community. Dennis Jocson, the Director/Founder of AirVorne Volleyball has been serving the volleyball community since 2000. Dennis is originally from Pensacola, Florida and has been playing volleyball since 1989. In 1996, Dennis moved to Atlanta just after the Olympics. During the years afterwards, he began to realize that the volleyball community wanted more than just triples grass tournaments and coed tournaments. In 2000, the King/Queen of the Grass format was created to incorporate coed competition as well as a fun social atmosphere especially for those who are new to Atlanta and finding volleyball. The idea behind this King/Queen format…no partner needed and each player played with someone different of the opposite sex. Friendships were created and the volleyball community became stronger.
AirVorne Volleyball is also affiliated with AVPNext, a national program that helps support local organizations host and run volleyball events for all ages. “It [AVPNext] sanctions a wide variety of volleyball tournaments, recreational leagues and instructional camps/clinics for all ages and abilities throughout the United States and represents the nation’s largest network of outdoor amateur volleyball associations.”
Dennis continues to find ways to support the sport we love to play. In 2001, he came across a park/field located off of Osborne Road and Peachtree Street which became the center of grass volleyball in the metro area of Atlanta. Most of his grass tournaments are hosted there as well as open play pick-up during the week. In 2003, he approached Piedmont Park Conservancy to build two sand courts located in the Active Oval off of Piedmont Road and 14th Street. Today, these sand courts are use daily from recreational players to the professionals.
AirVorne Volleyball’s motto: “Altitude NOT Attitude”…see you guys on the courts…

As Director of Youth Programs, Kim Dalimonte was instrumental in the development of AirVorne Volleyball’s youth program. Sports have always played an important role in Kim’s life. She started playing club ball at the age of 13 and later won two high school state championships. Kim played at the collegiate level and managed an adult USAV team.
Kim continues to compete in tournaments locally and throughout the Southeast. She played in the AVP Atlanta qualifier in 2007 and is one of the top Open players in Atlanta. Kim has received so much enjoyment from sand volleyball that she wants to expose others, especially young people, to the sport.
