Results: 05.16.2010 – Coed Sand Series…party on!!!

What an amazing day for some sand volleyball. We got lucky with the weather, but it turned out to be a perfect day to be outside. We had two female players come back for their second day of volleyball: Courtney Clark and Janice Fung…you go girls. After pool play, the results were as follows:

1. Ryan Hojnacki / Courtney Clark
2. Darin Edler / Michelle Edler
3. Tim Carlson / Janice Fung
4. Wes Fincher / Kortney Dalrymple
5. Jon Beck / Alison Jaynes
6. Rich O’Keefe / Terrie O’Keefe

It wasn’t until the semi-finals when the top seeded team of Hoj/Courtney went down to the newest team formed #4 – Wes/Kortney…25-17. In the other semi-final, it was the #2 seed – the Edlers verses #3 seed – Tim/Janice…the Edlers won with their hustle and quickness 25-17.

The finals were set and was a battle back and forth…#4 seed – Wes/Kortney verses #2 seed – the Edlers. One team was trying to hide a secret…unfortunately, the secret caught up with him and Wes began to cramp BIG TIME. The score was 17-16, the Edlers when Wes’ entire leg cramped up like stale French bread…his leg was not moving and every muscle just stiffin up. Unfortunately, for Wes/Kortney, they had to forfeit due to injury. Now you know why the final picture was taken on their knees…to accomodate for Wes.

Congratulations to Darin and Michelle for winning the Coed Sand Series…and get this – they played pick up right after the win.
