Result: 05.08.2010 – Doubles Grass Series…Old School verses New School

What an amazing beautiful day for volleyball. The temperature was perfect, the sun was out, and the wind blew like we were in Fort Walton.

The day started with 11-1/2 teams…thanks to Rachel Ecke for filling in the last spot with her various partner including Lindsay Casey who both played against the boys of ‘A’ during pool play. Thanks for filling in…

On the Men’s ‘A’ side, after a long day of matches (2 out of 3 games), a team from Tennessee took first place against RJ Thaxton and Raun Bassett…congratulations to Johnny Akins and Phong Truong. Good job fellows…

On the Men’s Open/AA side, the big boys came out to play. In the finals, the serving from Mike Carter and Scott Brown became the key against Kyle Peters and Mike Lawley as they won 25-15. It has been awhile since we saw Mike and Scott together…welcome back guys.

Unfortunately, the women’s division were canceled due to lack of attendance. Hopefully next time, the girls will show up to play…
