Women’s Sand Series – Earned Point Standings after 4 events…

Sheila

AirVorne Volleyball has hosted 4 tournaments for Women’s Sand Series this summer and continues the series on Saturday, August 15th at Atlanta Beach. So far here are the past winners from the series:

April 19th: Amber Ramga / Sheila Gatlin
May 2nd: Kim Dalimonte / Laura Shamp
June 20th: Sheila Gatlin / Jackie Viren
July 12th: Sheila Gatlin / Kim Dalimonte

Throughout the season and each sand volleyball tournament, all points earned have been recorded for the point system. Earned Point is defined as points that you have scored in each game you have played to the finals. For example, if a team goes undefeated throughout pool play which consisted of 5 games to 21 points that team has just earned 125 points. During the quarterfinals and so forth, if that same team continues to go undefeated that team just earned another 75 points for a final total of 200 points. All games are played to 21 points win by 2 points, but the max earned points are only 21 points to keep the point system consistent.

As of today, Sheila Gatlin has become the dominating player leading the pack. Kim Dalimonte and Amber Ramga are close behind her and both have played with Sheila. As far as a dominating team within the group, there has not been a consistent team. Elaine Sha and Nicole Nilson have played 3 out of the 4 tournaments together and have always been competitive against all teams.

Below is the summary of Earned Points for the Top 10 players who have played in the AirVorne Volleyball – Women’s Sand Series so far:

1. Sheila Gatlin = 857 points
2. Kim Dalimonte = 808 points
3. Amber Ramga = 774 points
4. Elaine Sha = 679 points
5. Laura Shamp = 534 points
6. Nicole Nilson = 505 points
7. Amanda ‘Ada’ Dashwood = 480 points
8. Kristi Hayes = 311 points
9. Kim Edwards = 300 points
10. Rosa Ray = 261 points
